Avengers 4 TIME TRAVEL: Two huge clues to how they will reverse The Snap | Films | Entertainment

Joe and Anthony have a lot of work ahead of them to somehow save the universe from the devastating effects of The Snap.

At tis stage we woudln’t be shocked if they opened Avegers 4 with Tony Stark in bed, waking up to reveal it was all just a dream.

The smart money is on some sort of time travel device whch will allow the surviving Avengers to rewrite the past, collect the Infinity Stones and defeat Thanos before it all happens.

Recent comments from the directors and one of the MCU’s hottest new stars shed new light on what could happen.

Evangeline Lilly returns as Scott Lang’s winged playmate in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

But it is her famous breakthrough role that coud hold the key to what will happen next… or ‘before.’

She said: “When I heard about Infinity War [and Avengers 4] and the direction that they’re heading, I did have this moment of realizing, oh, wow, there’s a bit of a déjà vu for me with the Lost franchise.”

And yes, she does mean time travel.

Lilly added: “We are hitting that Season 4 (from Lost) space, where everything’s about to shift, and you’re about to lose the solid ground underneath you. And [Ant-Man and the Wasp], of course, will play a part in that.”

Lost increasingly featured flashforwards and time-travel in that season. Then again, it also eventually revealed that everyone was already dead…

The Russos also hinted at alternate timelines.

The directors told Huffington post fans should expect mind (and possibly time)-bending plot developments.

Anthony Russo said: “Here’s the thing, I think it’s important to remember anything is possible in the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. Just because there’s a sequel on the books doesn’t mean… people become accustomed to time moving linearly in the MCU. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. There’s a lot of very inventive ways of where the story can go from here.”

Joe added: “Don’t expect everything to move forward in a linear fashion in the Marvel universe.”
