Two fire engines along with a special appliance from Leigh were called to the “Sizzling Palate” restaurant at around 10.32pm after the collapse.
All of the casualties were female and were taken to hospital.
Restaurant manager Amir told Express.co.uk: “A small fraction of the suspended ceiling collapsed but everything is OK.
“It’s not a major disaster, a few people got minor injuries and minor concussion.
“Police have given us the OK.
“Business is usual.”
Five of the women suffered minor injuries but one suffered a neck injury and her condition is unknown.
Firefighters remained at the scene of the incident for around an hour.
Pictures of the scene showed at least two police cars attended.
According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, it serves an “array of Asian influence to satisfy any appetite.
