Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla Parker Bowles today in London | Style | Life & Style

Queen Elizabeth II arrived at The Royal Mews in London today.

The monarch beamed as she stepped out of her black vehicle, probably because the visit involves one of her greatest passions – dogs.

The 91-year-old great grandmother was attending 10th Anniversary celebration of the charity Medical Detection Dogs.

Medical Detection Dogs is a charity which trains dogs to detect the odour of human diseases.

The organisation is currently developing a project to enable their highly trained detection dogs to pick up the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

They are one of the two UK finalists for the BetterWithPets prize, along with Canine Hope, and could win £75,000 tomorrow as part of the competition.

There was even a yellow labrador there to greet the Queen as she arrived.

Her Majesty wore a purple jacket with a floral skirt with a blue and beige design for the occasion.

She added white gloves and a three-strand pearl necklace to the look.

The Queen also wore a brooch with a touching family connection.

This brooch imitates a bunch of grapes tied together by a bow.

Each grape is a stunning diamond, with diamond stems, and the bow is rendered in blue sapphires.

The piece once belonged to the Queen Mother, and Elizabeth II inherited it.

She often wears it with blue and purple outfits such as this one.

Her Majesty last wore the piece in public four years ago during a visit to St Pancras to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Channel Tunnel in 2014.

She wore it with a white coat and black hat with white bow on that occasion.

The Queen was joined today by the wife of Prince Charles, 70, Camilla Parker Bowles, also 70.

The Duchess of Cornwall wore a black skirt with a large white spotty print.

She added a white blazer, taking style tips from the Queen herself.

Camilla added white court shoes with a black toe and her everyday pearl and diamond earrings.

Yesterday Camilla Parker Bowles attended the royal garden party.

Donning a serious face for the cameras, Camilla wore a powder blue dress coat ensemble.

The Royal Family are in full garden party swing, with the Queen welcoming over 30,000 guests a year to relax in the private gardens of Buckingham Palace.
