Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and Prince Andrew resembled a “flirty” couple on a first date at Ascot yesterday, according to a body language expert.

Sarah, also known as Fergie, and her ex husband Andrew divorced in 1996.

However, they have remained close – Sarah and Prince Andrew still live together, it is believed.

What’s more, they have two daughters together: Princess Eugenie, 28, and Princess Beatrice, 29.

The divorced couple attended the fourth day of Ascot together in the Royal Enclosure, along with Beatrice.

Pictures show the pair laughing and joking, so they are clearly getting on well.

A body language expert has spotted a further, romantic subtext in their interactions.

Body language expert Judi James said the couple looked like they were on a “first date”.

She said: “They might be divorced but Fergie and Andrew’s body language signals as they chat together here suggest a flirty couple on their first date.

“Fergie’s face-watching eye contact is flattering and her open-mouthed smile suggests genuine delight and approval as she watches her ex.

“The one arm barrier signal hints at coyness but it’s not nearly as coy as the one raised heel, which is quite a bashful flirt signal.

Judi added that Andrew seemed “less open” but still enjoyed the flirtation.

“Andrew might be less open about his feelings here but those narrowed eyes and slightly rounded cheeks suggest he’s quite happy with the attention.”

Will Sarah and Prince Andrew ever marry again? The birth of the royal baby means there is a chance it could happen.

This is because of a royal law dating back to 1772, known as the Royal Marriages Act, which states the first six individuals in the line of succession to the British throne cannot marry without the king or queen’s consent.

Now that the royal baby of Kate Middleton, 36, and Prince William, 35, has been born, Prince Andrew has dropped from sixth place to seventh place in the line of succession.

This means he is able to marry whomever he chooses without the consent of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, 92, whose husband, Prince Philip, 96, has a feud with Sarah Ferguson.

Royal laws aside, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have made no secret of their affection for one another in recent years.

Sarah often posts pictures of Prince Andrew on her Instagram account, including recent pictures of him on stage at a St James’ Palace event.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has made a statement by hosting Sarah as his guest at royal events which are listed on the prestigious Court Circular.
