Over the last decade, there’s been a regular tradition of the UK getting MCU movies a week before the US. That was until last year when Avengers Infinity War came out just one day before in the UK. And let’s not forget last summer when, due to the World Cup, Ant-Man and the Wasp arrived a month ahead in the US. As for Avengers Endgame, the standard week before the US release was back on until the official first trailer in December revealed a simultaneous release on April 26. And yet that’s all changed again.
Comscore Movies UK & Ireland have tweeted: “NEWS FROM THE UK & IRELAND RELEASE CALENDAR:
“Avengers: Endgame will have a Thursday opening, 25th April.”
Bad luck America. However, us Brits shouldn’t be too smug as Empire points out that some countries are getting Avengers Endgame on April 24.
These include Australia, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
Feige added: “I think, as was the case with a lot of our films, this one in particular, being able to generate excitement without giving away any of the many, many, many, many secrets – many, many, many secrets! – would be ideal.
“And I think the Disney marketing team is the best in the world and I think we can pull it off.”
Just how the Avengers will reverse Thanos’ Snap is a real mystery, but here’s our best guess.
Avengers Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
