Brigitte Macron, 65, looked animated as she cheered France to victory against the Netherlands for their first home football game since their World Cup win earlier this summer.

Clapping and laughing, the French first lady stood next to her husband in the packed Stade de France.

Knowing all eyes were on her, Brigitte chose to wear an attention-grabbing gold cashmere lame cardigan from Louis Vuitton.

The long-sleeved item, which featured a row of buttons down the front, costs an eye-watering £1,162 (€1,300).

Making the most of the v-neck, Brigitte wore a delicate diamond necklace to highlight her décolletage.

Her huge engagement and wedding rings could be seen sparkling on her left hand.

She completed the loks with a brown leather cuff strapped to her left wrist.

Brigitte had clearly made a trip to the hairdresser just ahead of the night out, as her hair was freshly blowdried and looked particularly bouncy.

Makeup wise, Brigitte stuck to her signature smoky eyes and nude lipstick.

Brigitte is back in France after enjoying a state visit to Finland and Denmark with her husband.

The couple were hosted by Kate Middleton look-a-like Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and her husband Frederik.

Making sure to look her best, Brigitte stunned in an array of outfits throughout the visit.

As she often does, Brigitte flashed her legs in a mini dress on one of the days, donning a cropped shift dress in a rust shade which fell a couple of inches above her knees.

She paired this with a biker inspired blazer in a matching rust colour with silver zip detailing.

Earlier in the day, Brigitte had stepped out in a white 60s inspired mini dress. White seemed to be a popular choice for the French President’s wife, as she chose the colour for a state dinner the night before.

The stunning floor-length dress hung loosely over Brigitte’s slender frame, cinched in slightly at the waist to highlight her shape.

Predominantly white in colour, the dress featured sparkly, silver panelling, typical of the First Lady’s edgy sense of style.

Structured in its form, the dress featured long sleeves and a high, crew neck, exposing just a hint of the 65-year-old’s tanned skin.

Brigitte matched the silver detailing on her dress to her accessories, carrying a shiny, silver clutch bag with her to the dinner.
