McGregor’s fight with Nurmagomedov has been nearly two years in the making and promises to be one of the biggest fights in UFC history.

The Irishman will go head to head with the undefeated Russian athlete on October 6.

But despite the nerve-jangling tension and heavy training, McGregor decided spend precious time with his son, Conor Jr, teaching him a few tricks of the trade.

He captured the moment on Instagram and wrote underneath the snap: “A great learner will be a good teacher.

“But to become a great teacher, you must remain a great learner.

“One day my son will teach me skills right back, and it will be the proudest day of my life.

“Let’s go my champion!”

The UFC star and his long time girlfriend had their first child, Conor Jack McGregor Jr, in May last year.

The couple, who have been dating since 2008, are now awaiting the birth of their second child.

The Instagram post depicting the one-year-old was received with good sentiment and was liked by more than a million people.

Former Irish mixed martial artist Paddy Holohan wrote in a comment: “No bond like father and son.”

Another comment said: “So awesome. His son has no clue how big go a legend his father is.

“But will soon grow up to realise.”

A few people decided to focus on the nerve-racking showdown with Nurmagomedov instead of the sweet snap of Conor Jr.

One commented: “Khabib will teach you first, don’t worry.”
