Peter Rabbit 50p coins from the Beatrix Potter collection have proven very popular.
The collection began in 2016 and new coins have been release every year since.
One of the first and most popular coins is this Peter Rabbit coin.
The 50p has a portrait of Peter’s head and shoulders, and he can be seen wearing his waistcoat.
This coin is a circulated coin, not a collectors item.
It has been sold by eBay user g_i-28 for £2,000 an enormous profit.
The seller simply wrote in the description of the lot: “Rare 50p peter rabbit 50p.”
Previously a Peter Rabbit 50p coin has sold for £5,995 on eBay.
Another Peter Rabbit 50p coin has sold for £800 on the auction site. But is it really that rare?
The 2016 Peter Rabbit is actually not rare at all, according to coin website Change Checker.
The coin has a mintage figure of 9,600,000, making it one of the most common 50p coins.
However, the 2017 Peter Rabbit coins is even less rare, with a mintage figure of 19,300,000.
The figures for the 2018 Peter Rabbit coins is yet to be confirmed as the piece has not been released into circulation yet.
However, some of the Peter Rabbit coins are rare.
Silver proof versions of the coin, which are hand-painted, are far more rare and can sell for large sums.
Another Beatrix Potter coin also sold for a huge sum.
One of these coins is a Benjamin Bunny 50p, that was listed on eBay for a whopping £495.
Hoping to attract sellers, the seller listed the item as a “Rare 50p Coin BENJAMIN BUNNY 2017.”
The description goes onto explain: “Extremely rare 50p coin Benjamin bunny 2017.”

Rarest £2 coins
The rarest £2 coin is the 2002 Commonwealth Games NI coin with 485,500 in circulation. This is followed by the 2002 Commonwealth Games Wales which has 588,500 in circulation.
Next up is the 2015 Navy, and there are 650,000 in circulation.
Rarest £1 coins
The most rare £1 coins are all part of a series celebrating the British capitals.
The rarest of these is the 2011 Edinburgh coin, with 935,000 in circulation. Of the 2011 Cardiff coins there are 1,615,000 in circulation, while the 2010 London coin has 2,635,000 in circulation.
Rarest 50p coin
The rarest 50p coin is the Kew Gardens coin, which is also the rarest coin in circulation. It there were only 210,000 minted.
The football Olympic 50p coin has 1,125,500 in circulation, and the wrestling coin has 1,129,500 in circulation.
It is not so easy to evaluate the rarest 20p coins, 10p coins and even 2p coins as exact circulation figures are not known.
However, various versions of the coins are known to sell for large sums.
These include the dateless 20ps, which are actually part of a run from 2008. There may be between 50,000 and 200,000 of these coins in circulation.
The 1983 ‘New Pence’ 2p coin can also sell for a huge sum, up to £650.
