The Florida Highway Patrol will conduct a driving under the influence “wolfpack” detail from 7 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday in Collier and Lee counties, focusing on major state and county roadways.
The FHP details are operated to try to remove impaired drivers from the roadways.
Troopers will be mobile while monitoring traffic.
Florida law considers it a DUI instance and a driver impaired with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher. Drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are also in violation of Florida law.
The FHP provides the special number *FHP (*347) that when dialed from any cell phone contacts FHP to report an aggressive driver or summon roadside assistance.
