A pontoon boat crash on a lake in Cape Coral claimed a boater’s life Wednesday afternoon.
A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman said the report of the incident on Alhambra Lake came in shortly after 5:30 p.m.
The vessel, an 18-foot pontoon boat, was being operated on plane within the lake when it struck a dock and the operator was ejected, FWC public information officer Adam Brown said.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene but the operator died from the injuries.
The incident continues under investigation by the FWC. The identity of the operator was not released.
