The beauty of NFL free agency is the majority of meaningful moves are made within the first week of the signing period. Sure, there are still plenty of players on the market, including impact talent, but most teams have done their heavy lifting and shifted focus to the draft.
The ideal approach is to fill immediate needs via free agency, clearing the path to select the best prospect on the board in the draft. Obviously, it doesn’t always work out that way, but it’s widely considered the best approach to long-term success.
