Video: Hurricane Eta produces strong winds, waves and rain on Fort Myers Beach

Waves driven by gusting winds from Hurricane Eta smashed into the beaches on Fort Myers Beach, driving some water up onto the Times Square area.

As Hurricane Eta threatens Southwest Florida, some schools and bridges are closing in advance of the storm.

Here are the latest closures in Lee and Collier counties. Additional closures will be included as they are announced.

What’s closed in Lee County

  • Sanibel Causeway
  • Matlacha Bridge
  • Schools will dismiss three hours early in Lee County. Read more here.
  • The opening of the Fort Myers Boat Show has been delayed to Friday.

What’s closed in Collier County

  • Naples Pier
  • Naples City Dock
