The Florida Department of Health reported 178 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths in Lee County on Sunday.

Sunday’s new cases increased Lee’s total to 63,512, eighth-highest among Florida’s 67 counties. Lee County’s total COVID-19 deaths grew to 923, 10th-most in Florida.

According to the state Department of Health, a total of 2,145 people in Lee County have been hospitalized for COVID-19 as of Sunday. That number does not reflect people currently in the hospital, according to the state.

The Florida Department of Health is not reporting how many people have recovered from COVID-19.
