Arrest Trump for ‘inciting riot’

Now is the time to stand. We need toughness. We need law and order. Trump should be arrested for inciting a riot.

Trump, who lost the popular and Electoral College vote, continues to dispute the results, without evidence, and has encouraged his supporters to attend rallies in the nation’s capital. He took the stage about noon (Wednesday) to a roaring crowd, claiming he had won the election.

At the U.S. Capitol, throngs of protesters pushed past police who were trying to block them from entering the building, while senators inside debated the certification of the presidential election.

Use 25th Amendment

In the waning days of his “power,” it is incumbent that such action be taken:

“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”

Vaccinations ‘well done’

We were so impressed with the process of receiving the Moderna vaccine in Lee County on Wednesday. Whoever had the idea to use the old airport site for this undertaking needs a pay raise! It was so easy to get in and out.

Everyone working — and there were a lot of workers — was so pleasant. Lines were painted on the asphalt indicating 6 feet along the queue, and the queues were spacious, which made us feel very safe. Shuttles were available, and there were plenty of facilities. We were in and out in less than an hour.

This operation was government working at its finest. Well done!

COVID shots were quick

Wow! We both just got our Moderna vaccinations at the Lee County airport site (Wednesday). Once you get past the call-in reservation process, it is amazingly quick, organized, friendly and painless.

No traffic backup. No waiting. From the time we conveniently parked until we arrived in the tent for a mandatory 15-minute wait to make sure we had no reaction — 10 minutes.

The Florida and Lee County health departments, the park rangers, the emergency medical technicians, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and all the volunteers did a great job.

‘Sedition and treason?’

Who would have ever thought our democracy was so fragile?

I am a lifelong Republican. The Republican Party was the party that stood for truth, justice and the American way. It stood for a strong defense, a balanced budget and obedience to the Constitution. There were giants in the Grand Old Party, men of respect. But that was then, and this is now.

It is now the party of lick-spittle toadies completely devoid of honor. At what point do their actions become sedition and treason? When does their loyalty to the Constitution override all other considerations?

‘Remove Trump immediately’

Totally outrageous: storming the U.S. Capitol with the president’s urging! The Cabinet must remove Trump immediately.

The participants (Wednesday) need to be arrested and jailed.

The owner of Oakes Farms led a bus there. Because of his actions, no one should patronize his businesses.

‘A menace to us all’

It has become increasingly clear that Donald Trump will do anything possible to remain in office. His interest is in his own self-preservation and aggrandizement.

He has twisted the truth and reality to the point that he has become a threat to the well-being and safety of all Americans. He has become a menace to us all. The 25th Amendment should be invoked without delay, removing Mr. Trump from office.

‘Off the cliff of democracy’

The Trumpsters are reveling in their acts of violence (Wednesday) on Capitol Hill. Trump inspired his robotic lemmings to jump off the cliff of democracy and they did it gleefully.

Will we hear anything from Trump’s lapdogs, like Rep. Donalds and Sens. Scott and Rubio? I doubt it.

Republican now ‘ashamed’

I have been a registered Republican Party member for over 55 years. But after observing the incredibly stupid antics Wednesday at the Capitol by Trump’s loyal, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, room-temperature-IQ followers, I am ashamed to call myself a Republican.

‘Appalled’ at Capitol chaos

I am a lifelong Republican, but I am appalled at what I witnessed (Wednesday) at our nation’s Capitol. I am embarrassed for our country and ashamed of those protesters who claim to represent the Republican Party. They do not represent me. This is not the American way.
