Lingard has scored four goals against the Gunners in six appearances, with three of those coming away from Old Trafford.
Following two of those strikes in London, the England international cut some shapes on the Emirates turf.
The first instance came in December 2017 when Lingard made the score 2-0 in the first half, electing to do the Milly Rock dance in front of Manchester United’s jubilant away supporters.
“At The Emirates I Milly Rock,” he posted on Instagram after the game.
The trend then continued this season in the FA Cup when Lingard channelled his inner Michael Jackson and moonwalked having made the score 2-0 – once again in the first half.
United won both fixtures 3-1 and Lingard has garnered somewhat of a reputation for his north London antics, which he acknowledged in the latest installment of BT Sport’s series What I Wore.
“These actually remind me of Arsenal,” he said, looking at the United 17/18 away kit and 18/19 third jersey.
“It’s tough [to choose which one I like more]. Because when I Milly Rocked, everyone was shocked.
“Everyone was like: ‘Oh my god, he’s just done that.’
“That was only at 2-0 so there’s a chance they could have comeback, do you know what I mean? Risky, but when it pays off…”
As for the MJ inspiration, Lingard was listening to the late pop icon before the side’s 4th round FA Cup tie in January.
“I was listening to the song before that match and I was like: ‘If I score I’ll do it (moonwalk).’
“And I scored and did it. But it was smooth as anything, it was smooth as well!”
Arsenal responded to Lingard’s disparaging of their patch when Unai Emery’s side claimed 2-0 league victory over United in March.
“Steppin’ out onto our ‘Dancefloor’,” posted the club account in acknowledgement of Lingard’s previous words.
Mesut Ozil also bit back following the win, posting, amid a clutter of emojis: “Dancefloor huh!? Superb performance! Brilliant result! Thank you Emirates Stadium! Proud to be a Gunner!”
