A 26-year-old Cape Coral man discovered Sunday that “burning  rubber” right in the Florida Highway Patrol headquarters parking lot is probably not such a good idea.

Dallas Joseph Ziemski faces a driving under the influence charge after troopers said he aggressively accelerated and turned his 2016 Dodge Charger within the front

parking lot of Florida Highway Patrol Office in Fort Myers at 8:30 p.m., leaving a double stripe of tire marks.

Troopers stopped Ziemski and arrested him.

An FHP report said that because of his high level of impairment they took Ziemski to Lee Memorial Hospital and later booked into the Lee County Jail.

Ziemski was released on $1,000 bond Monday morning and will be arraigned Nov. 30.
