The Super Bowl 2019 takes place tonight at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The annual American football game will see the Los Angeles Rams take on the New England Patriots. Fans in the US and from across the world are preparing to see who will be declared champion of the National Football League for the 2018 season. The event often sees some very famous faces in attendance, with Maroon 5 headlining the Super Bowl LIII halftime show this year.
They will be joined by Big Boi of Outkast and Travis Scott.
This huge event will also see Gladys Knight perform ahead of the game getting underway.
In recent years, the President serving for the US at the time has participated in an interview with the network hosting the Super Bowl, on what’s known as Super Bowl Sunday.
According to CNN, President George W. Bush was the first to take part in the tradition, with Barack Obama following suit each year he was in office.
However, last year, Donald Trump is said to have declined NBC’s request for the 72-year-old to sit down with them.
This year, however, CNN have said that the President will take part in an interview with CBS.
The news outlet went on to report that this will take place with Margaret Brennan on Friday, before the network air it during their Super Bowl coverage.
So, while Donald Trump looks set to appear on the small screen during the event, he may not actually be attending the game.
