Morning crash in Fort Myers causes palm tree to squash roof of truck

One person was taken to the hospital Sunday after an early morning crash caused a tree to topple onto a truck in Fort Myers.

A report from the Fort Myers Fire Department said units were called to Palm Beach Boulevard at Desoto Avenue shortly after 1 a.m.

A collision at the intersection caused in a royal palm tree to fall on top of a truck.

Fire officials said one person was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
