A fire Sunday morning at a home in Cape Coral affected six people, including four children, the American Red Cross Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland Chapter reported.
Cape Coral Fire Department officials said firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that started around 3 a.m. in a living room at a home on Northeast 1st Place. The home sustained heavy smoke damage.

Fire officials said there were no injuries. Details on an investigation into the fire were not available.
Local Red Cross volunteer members of the Disaster Action Team helped coordinate emergency aid including shelter to those affected by the blaze.
The Red Cross provided emergency financial assistance, relief items like toiletries, health and mental health services, one-on-one support to connect people to available recovery assistance and will continue to provide additional support to the family.
