The tax return deadline for the previous tax year is January 31, 2019. This is also known as a balancing payment and your first payment on account. The second payment on account will be later in the year on July 31.

To make sure you’re on the right tax code, check your code matches the Personal Allowance you should be getting.
If you started a new job recently and your tax tax code hasn’t been worked out before your first pay cheque, you may be put on a tax code.
However, this means you may not be given the correct Personal Allowance for you.

However, you still may not get paid the same for a couple of months while your bank account catches up.
